Il disegno, essenziale e pulito, è opera degli architetti dello studio NuvolaB di Firenze.
Io ho tradotto dal disegno alla materia in modo che l'oggetto , per quanto grande, si mimetizzi nella parete di fondo.
La scelta del bianco rinforza l'idea di tutt'uno, mentre gli elementi in legno di Rovere rompono la monotonia

The design, essential and clean, is the work of the architects of nuvolaB studio in Florence. I translated the drawing into material so that the object, as large as it is, blends into the background wall. The choice of white reinforces the idea of a single entity, while the Oak wood elements break the monotony.

Questa cucina è stata progettata sulla base di uno spunto avuto dai clienti , i quali desideravano una forte presenza dell'acciaio unita ad un legno caldo ma dal tono particolare.Così il legno di Castagno è stato trattato con un impregnante di un chiarissimo giallo-verde.
Le maniglie , il vetro retato ed il piano di lavoro color cemento hanno dato uno spirito "industrial" al tutto.

This kitchen was designed based on an idea from the clients, who wanted a strong presence of steel combined with a warm wood but with a particular tone. So the Chestnut wood was treated with a very light yellow-green stain. The handles, the netted glass, and the cement-colored worktop gave the whole thing an "industrial" spirit.

Rovere naturale, Rovere trattato con ossido di ferro (per tirare fuori il nero tannino) e ferro.
Questi materiali creano la struttura della nostra cucina, pensata , come tutta la casa, sul concetto dell'albero: la parte alta ,prevalentemente aperta, è sostenuta a parete da "rami" di Rovere massiccio.
Piastrelle chiare con fughe scure per riprendere il tono del ferro.

Natural Oak, Oak treated with iron oxide (to bring out the black tannin) and iron. These materials create the structure of our kitchen, designed, like the whole house, on the concept of the tree: the upper part, mostly open, is supported on the wall by "branches" of solid Oak. Light tiles with dark grout to match the tone of the iron.

Cucina realizzata con un gioco di due colori: il bianco per le superfici lisce e il nero per le parti in legno di Rovere a poro aperto.
La penisola è lievemente inclinata rispetto al lato lungo muro per dare più spazio a chi cucina. La bancalina sopsesa alla penisola permette di mangiare in quattro persone

Kitchen made with a play of two colors: white for the smooth surfaces and black for the open-pore Oak wood parts. The peninsula is slightly angled relative to the long wall side to give more space to the cook. The shelf suspended above the peninsula allows four people to eat.

Divertente e diversa dalle classiche cucine in muratura.
Il gioco dei "mattoncini" di legno applicati sugli sportelli , che sono decoro e maniglia al tempo stesso, riprende il disegno delle piastrelline 10 x 10.
Il legno d'Acero e il vetro rendono tutto molto luminoso.

Fun and different from classic masonry kitchens. The play of wooden "bricks" applied to the doors, which are both decoration and handle, echoes the design of the 10x10 tiles. The Maple wood and glass make everything very bright.

Il massello d’olmo, in pannelli di lamellare*, caratterizza questa cucina, in cui si è voluto il legno come protagonista assoluto.
Il piano della penisola, con la sua morbida sagomatura, nasconde il meccanismo di fuoriuscita di una prolunga sostenuta da una gamba con ruotino, orientabile a piacere.

The Elm solid wood, in laminated panels, characterizes this kitchen, where wood was intended to be the absolute protagonist. The peninsula top, with its soft shaping, hides the mechanism for extending a supported extension with a caster leg, orientable as desired.

Il design di questa cucina segue il desiderio dei clienti di avere una linea più pulita e lineare possibile integrandosi , tramite i colori ,col pavimento originale della casa. Il grigio chiaro esalta la luminosità della stanza.

Cucina molto lineare con uno spirito piuttosto industrial, infatti gli sportelli sono rivestiti di lamiera di ferro e le maniglie ricavate da una lamiera piegata.

Very linear kitchen with a rather industrial spirit, indeed the doors are covered with iron sheet metal and the handles are made from a folded sheet metal. The black stone chosen to dampen the light in order to obtain a deliberately dark environment.

Questa cucina gioca sul contrasto del calore dato dal legno scuro e il bianco più glaciale e netto nelle linee.
Le maniglie ,con il loro design, giocano con le parti sbassate sul bianco. Il piano , come il resto scuro, in legno massiccio di Sukupira trattato con olio duro.

This kitchen plays on the contrast between the warmth of dark wood and the cold, clean lines of white.
The handles, with their design, play with the recessed parts in white. The top, like the rest in dark, is made of solid Sukupira wood treated with hard oil.

In questa cucina, la scarsa luminosità dell’ambiente viene compensata dal colore paglierino dell’ acero e dall’acciaio del piano di lavoro e dei vari accessori.Un carrello con tagliere riempie provvisoriamente il vano lavastoviglie.

In this kitchen, the low light of the environment is compensated by the straw color of the Maple and the steel of the worktop and various accessories. A cart with a cutting board temporarily fills the dishwasher space.

Natural materials left on display to enhance their characteristics: brushed grain in the Oak planks, the two different Carrara marbles, bare glass, rope. The shapes are boldly contrasted by the vibrant color of the walls.

In un bel casolare di campagna, questa cucina richiama la tradizione con l'utilizzo del legno di Castagno.
La sua coloritura appena sbiancata , la pietra nera e le mattonelle(scelte dal cliente) danno un tocco di moderno, insieme al design della parte alta.

In a beautiful countryside farmhouse, this kitchen recalls tradition with the use of chestnut wood. Its slightly bleached color, black stone and tiles (chosen by the client) give a touch of modernity, together with the design of the upper part.

Nella campagna pisana, questa cucina mantiene il calore del legno come elemento principale. Ma l'essenza scelta è totalmente una novità per questa zona.
Infatti non si tratta di un legno europeo, ma africano. In Italia viene chiamato Diabema. Con il suo tono scuro , tipico dei legni africani, si sposa molto bene con i toni chiari della casa.
L'isola su ruote si affaccia verso la sala .

In the Pisan countryside, this kitchen maintains the warmth of wood as its main element. But the chosen essence is totally new to this area. In fact, it's not a European wood, but African. In Italy, it's called Diabema. With its dark tone, typical of African woods, it pairs well with the light tones of the house. The rolling island faces the living room.

In questa struttura, ispirata all’essenzialità, la penisola alta rimanda a un bancone da pizzeria, con il classico piano di marmo di Carrara.
Per esaltare la superficie semigrezza del legno, il rivestimento di tavoloni di frassino massello, levigati appena, è cosparso di impregnante bianco.

In this structure, inspired by simplicity, the high peninsula evokes a pizzeria counter, with the classic Carrara marble top. To enhance the semi-raw surface of the wood, the solid Ash plank covering, lightly sanded, is sprinkled with white stain.

Linearità e scelte cromatiche decisamente moderne negli sportelli di rovere cosparsi di un impregnante* antracite-azzurro e nel piano di lavoro di ardesia in lastre 60x60 iscritte nel rovere massello.
I pensili, piccoli, sono alleggeriti da sportelli di vetro opaco con lucenti maniglie d’acciaio.

Linearity and decidedly modern chromatic choices in the Oak doors sprinkled with an anthracite-blue stain and in the slate worktop in 60x60 slabs set into the solid Oak. The small wall cabinets are lightened by opaque glass doors with shiny steel handles.

Nato a Roma nel 1977, Nicola Sirtori vive e lavora a Pisa nel suo laboratorio artigianale fino al 2016. Da inizio 2017 si trasferisce a Lisbona dove inizia un nuovo percorso nel suo laboratorio alle porte della capitale portoghese. Oltre ai lavori che esegue sul territorio, ha ideato e realizzato altri progetti in città italiane e estere, quali Roma, Bruxelles, Londra, Parigi.
Who I am
Born in Rome in 1977, Nicola Sirtori lived and worked in Pisa in his artisanal workshop until 2016. In early 2017, he moved to Lisbon, where he began a new journey in his workshop on the outskirts of the Portuguese capital. In addition to his work locally, he has designed and completed other projects in Italian and international cities, including Rome, Brussels, London, and Paris.
